James is a Liverpool based guitarist and tutor who has been playing since the age of 12. After graduating from BIMM Manchester where he studied professional musicianship, James has been working as a musician in his own band and as a session musician which has taken him on tours around the UK, Europe and the USA. Aside from touring, James has over 3 years of teaching experience, teaching students of all ages and helping them to develop their knowledge of music and guitar. James first started as a self taught guitarist and after a few months of learning at home he started taking lessons. James’ teacher was a massive influence on not just his playing and understanding of the instrument but also his love for music. Having such a good connection to his teacher is what made James want to pursue a career in music and also gave him a love for teaching. James is passionate about helping his students have the same inspiring experiences he had with his tutor, by catering to his students goals, helping them learn their favourite songs, work towards goals such as their graded exams or helping them prepare for a concert by using skills he has gained throughout his career as a musician. Something which once seemed like a dream was made possible through amazing support and encouragement in his lessons. James hopes he can inspire his students and make them realise their potential in the same way his teacher did for him.
