About: Carwyn M is an experienced bass guitarist, and music educator, with over 8 years of performance experience. A graduate of the prestigious Royal Northern College of Music, Carwyn combines formal academic training with a wealth of real-world experience, bringing a well-rounded approach to his lessons. Skilled in genres from rock and jazz to funk and blues, he adapts his teaching to suit each student’s unique goals and musical tastes, creating a supportive and engaging learning environment. Carwyn offers lessons in Electric/Acoustic Guitar, Bass Guitar, and Piano/Keyboard. Teaching Philosophy: As a teacher, Carwyn believes in tailoring lessons to each student’s skill level, learning pace, and musical interests. He blends technical exercises, with ear training, music theory, and repertoire helping students build a solid foundation while discovering their personal style. His teaching emphasises rhythm, timing, and listening skills—essential elements for guitar, bass, and keyboard players at all levels. Performance Experience: Throughout his career, Carwyn has performed with various bands and ensembles, including Rose Oleria, Luson, The Jazz Stats Big Band, and more. Performing at venues such as The Brangwyn Hall (Swansea), Victoria Hall (Bolton), FAC251 (Manchester), and Band On The Wall (Manchester) alongside many others. This extensive live and studio experience allows him to teach practical skills, including groove, timing, improvisation, and stage presence.
