Charlie J
Piano/Keyboard
Charlie is a skilled keyboard player, producer and music educator based in Manchester, with a passion for inspiring others through music. His love for music began at a young age, when his Mum’s old dancing teacher gave him an old upright piano, which he took to right away, figuring out songs and writing short tunes. Particularly after seeing Muse in concert - aged thirteen, at Download Festival - he was convinced that he would dedicate his life to playing music and facilitating others to do so.
He attended Sheffield Music Academy as a teen, refining his technique and collaborating with other young enthused musicians. At the same time, he was the bass player of an alternative rock band with his childhood friends - going on to release two albums and play multiple sold out shows. He went on to apply to and be accepted in to the prestigious conservatoire the Royal Northern College of Music, where he studied Popular Music and eventually graduated with a first class honours. At the college he discovered a love for producing music, releasing multiple electronic singles with singers he met on the course.
Specialising in pop with an additional background in classical and jazz, Charlie brings versatility and creativity to his playing and teaching. He is dedicated to helping students of all levels find their unique musical voice, whether mastering songs, composing, or performing confidently.

"My son had his lesson today and I just wanted to say how much he enjoyed it. He usually does but when we picked him up he straight away asked us to put the music on they’d been learning and he was so excited that they got to listen and explore a song he loves so much. Just wanted to thank Charlie, we think he’s amazing!” - Reuben, student.
